My office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET and Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET. Some Saturday appointments are available, typically between 9 a.m. and 12 noon ET.
Are urgent appointments available?
Yes, I can see someone for an urgent appointment, usually the same day but at least within 24 hours.
Do you have an office in California?
California clients are seen virtually only. However, I make regular visits to California and will inform clients in those areas to arrange for a 20-30 minute “meet and greet” or, in some cases, an in-person therapy session.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Research has shown that both online and in-person therapy are equally effective.
What type of therapy do you do?
I do individual therapy for adults dealing with different types of issues, including relationships, depression, anxiety, abuse/trauma, grief and loss, LGBTQ issues, divorce, porn addiction, and more.
How long are your therapy sessions?
Therapy sessions are about 60 minutes in length.
What is the cost of a therapy session?
The sessions are $200 per hour.
How do I pay for therapy services?
Payment is expected at the end of every session, but payment arrangements can be made in certain circumstances. Credit card payments can be made in-person or virtually. Cash and check payments can be made in person only. There are specific instructions for individuals purchasing therapy packages.
Do you accept insurance?
I do accept some insurance. However, I can provide a superbill for those individuals with an out-of-network plan.
Am I charged for missed or canceled appointments?
You must cancel your appointment within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. If you cancel after that period or “no-show,” you will be charged $75 for the missed appointment. Emergencies will be handled on an individual basis.
You specialize in men, but do you see women or couples?
I see women for individual therapy. I do not see couples. However, I periodically have conjoint or sessions for couples to support the clients/partners I’m already working with.
What can I expect in an initial session?
In the initial session, I gather information about you and your needs. I ask questions about your physical and emotional health. I will discuss my approach to therapy and treatment goals. It is also an opportunity for you to interview me. You will be able to see if my approach and personality will work for you.
